Position Summary: The Director, SEC & Financial Reporting will report to the Assistant Controller and be responsible for the preparation of the financial statements and disclosures for the Company’s filings, including, but not limited to, Forms 10-Q and 10-K. This individual leads the team in charge of preparing the Company’s consolidated financial statements, as well as supporting schedules and documentation for information contained in external filings and is responsible for communication to Senior Leadership as it relates to Company filings.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leads team of skilled accountants responsible for the preparation of the Company’s consolidated financial statements and SEC filings.

  • Prepares financial statements and disclosures for the Company’s filings, including, but not limited to, Forms 10-Q and 10-K. Prepares supporting schedules and documentation for information contained in external filings.

  • Works closely with senior leaders through the external reporting process. Partners with Legal and Investor Relations regarding required filings and external reporting.

  • Primary owner of quarterly and ad hoc financial schedules and analysis for senior management and external auditors.

  • Supports Chief Accounting Officer with analysis, projects, and/or communication directly to Senior Leadership.

  • Reviews external financial presentations and provides recommendations to Senior Leadership.

  • Partners in the review and analysis of divisional/commercial monthly financial statements.

  • Assures proper reporting for the adoption of new accounting pronouncements.

Education & Special Trainings:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business with a concentration in Accounting

  • Active CPA required

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A combined 12+ years of experience is required (preferably at least 8+ years of experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm and an additional 4+ years at a global Fortune 500 company)

  • Substantial experience in and working knowledge of SEC reporting and U.S. GAAP

  • Experience with Workiva and/or Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) preferred

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and collaborative skills

  • Must be able to make judgment calls regarding the resolution of issues

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task on competing and deadline sensitive priorities

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization

  • Strong organizational skills and process orientation

  • Ability to effectively manage direct report team members and collaborate with multi-functional dotted-line teams

This role will required relocation to Flower Mound, TX and to be in office 2 days per week (typically Tuesday and Wednesday).
