BUNZL Demand Planner (Procurement) in St. Louis, Missouri

Description

The Demand Planner is a critical, front-end role of our supply chain that translates sales forecasts to actionable supply plans. The Demand Planner will act as a liaison among all stakeholders to make accurate, nonbiased, forecast-based projections.

You will manage all aspects of forecasting to the item (SKU) level across multiple individuals, sales structures, markets, and categories.

Responsibilities:

  • A supply chain leader serving our business with the ability to understand and take action to optimize demand and supply plans

  • Consume and reconcile sales forecasts using historical events

  • Identify exception events

  • Optimize A/B/C item ordering processes that drive base supply plans considering vendor, category, area, and customer

  • Maintain Forecast Models

  • Collect, analyze, and validate data

  • Analyze trends in forecasting error

  • Minimize bias through exception-based analysis and close connection to key sales leaders

  • Summarize/aggregate forecast models

  • Achieve consensus forecast

  • Lead master data updates including key item parameters

  • Review market and business intelligence, proactively address use change cases

  • Communicate key items to stakeholders, working closely with buyers and supply planners to optimize vendor performance

Requirements:

  • BA/BS college degree or its equivalent

  • 3+ years of experience in the industry, secondary education (e.g. MBA) will be considered as a substitute to experience.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.

  • Must be able to identify and prioritize tasks accordingly.

  • Knowledge of AS400, SAP/APO, Blue Yonder (JDA), or Oracle Demand.

  • APICS or other forecasting Certification preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel and PowerBI.
