To support the implementation of Aclara’s AMI solutions and software products. Work with a cross-functional team of project managers, systems engineers, developers and other analysts.

A Day In The Life

Essential Functions:

  • Gather business and functional requirements through client engagements.

  • Prepare functional designs of product customizations and features.

  • Perform complex data analysis tasks.

  • Provide oversight to system engineers and/or application consultants during the configuration/development phase of projects.

  • Prepare test plans and scripts and execute test cases.

  • Develop training materials and conduct customer training.

  • Provide system support and troubleshooting during the implementation period.

  • Work closely with customers and the implementation team to deliver successful implementations.

  • Lead and manage other business systems analysts.

What will help you thrive in this role?

Required:

  • Bachelors’ degree in a technology or business discipline.

  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience with a strong interest in building a career in the energy software industry.

  • Demonstrated verbal, writing, and presentation skills.

  • Familiarity with database management systems (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server), SQL queries, and PL/SQL.

  • Experience implementing Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products.

  • Client or “customer-oriented” experience.

  • Knowledge of enterprise application integration technologies and their deployment (e.g. web services), including standards used in the energy and utility industry such as Multispeak and CIM.

  • Strong analytical skills.

    Preferred:

  • An advanced degree with a minimum of 5 + years of analyst work experience in the energy industry, consulting or software implementation.

  • Working knowledge of industry specific solutions such as Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS), Consumer Engagement (CE), Customer Information Systems (CIS), Work Order Management Systems (WOMS), Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and Outage Management Systems (OMS).

    Physical Demand:

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
