Aston Carter Accounts Receivable Specialist in St. Louis, Missouri

Description:

You’ll support our efforts to manage accounts receivable in the complex environment of an ad agency. With solid A/R experience, you’ll help us properly manage the process of billing accounts while reconciling payments to paid media channels. You’ll help the accounting team to establish best practices and be a part of a culture that encourages the highest level of performance, integrity, and ethical actions.

Responsibilities:

• You’ll support our efforts to maximize revenue, improve financial visibility and control, and manage costs

• Meeting month-end close deadlines, providing financial results in a timely manner, risk mitigation, and reducing material weaknesses are all part of the position

Key functions:

• Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.

• Create invoices according to company practices and submit invoices to customers.

• Maintain and update customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.

• Draft correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identify delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contact delinquent accountholders to request payment.

• Create reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested.

• Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Collections Manager and other staff.

• Collaborate with the Finance Director to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic (at least bimonthly) basis.

• Assist in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.

• Relay changes of information to appropriate employees.

• Ensure timely, accurate and reliable financial statements and reporting, and ensure that policies and procedures meet other organizational objectives and needs.

• Work with our external auditors.

• Undertake special projects and/or general management assignments as requested by management.

• 3+ years previous work experience in an accounts receivable environment (professional services experience preferred)

• Excel skills (pivot tables and V-lookups

• Exposure to multi-subsidiary accounting
