Position Description: Surgical Technologist Lead

  • The Surgical Technologist, Lead is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.

  • Acts as the shift lead to staff and assists management with daily operations of the department.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program, OR, LPN Technical Diploma and 2 years surgical technician experience or completion of a military or hospital based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.

  • Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT

  • Minimum of 2 years surgical tech experience

  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Specific Skills:

  • Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up

  • Interpersonal skills
