Summary: Bilingual/Spanish Fluency Required for position

The Children's Wellness & Safety Specialist , Senior coordinates, plans, implements and evaluates child health and safety programs established by the Children's Wellness & Safety Center. Oversees program and outreach activities to achieve goals and objectives of the Children's Wellness & Safety Center. Attends various public meetings and functions as a liaison and leader between St. Joseph's Children's Hospital and community with regard to child health promotion and/or injury prevention. Assists manager with securing funding for programming including grant writing and reporting. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the field of early childhood development with experience performing and interpreting testing (ASQ-3) in addition to case management experience. Knowledge of community resources and local system of care for the early childhood population is preferable. This is a 40 hour exempt position that requires some late afternoon/early evening hours as well as 1 Saturday a month. Bilingual English/Spanish required.

This position is responsible for working with families in assessing and communicating the developmental needs of their child. Candidate must possess strong knowledge base of early child development with emphasis on understanding the sequence of developmental milestones as well as effective parent engagement skills to assist with providing education/strategies to promote healthy development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required - 5 years - Related Field; Or - 3 years - Relevant experience with Masters

  • Required - Bachelors - Health Education; Or - Bachelors - Nursing; Or - Bachelors - Public Health; Or - Bachelors - Related Field; Preferred - Masters - Related Field

Shift Hours: 8:30-5:00 variable
