Overview:

  • The D irector of Operations – Anatomic Pathology must be an experienced healthcare leader with an in-depth understanding of clinical operations of the Anatomic Pathology laboratories, including all aspects of histology and cytology.

  • They will work collaboratively with our Laboratory leadership team, medical directors, and pathologists to drive continuous improvement in clinical quality and promote the growth of the division.

  • The Operations Director will be responsible for the overall operational, clinical, and financial performance of the Anatomic Pathology laboratories.

  • The Operations Director will have responsibility for, but not limited to, departmental planning and business development with a focus on system collaboration and optimization of resources and workflow.

  • The Director will also be responsible for maintaining all regulatory aspects of CAP accreditation.

  • Experience with anatomic pathology related to molecular diagnostics will be beneficial.

Responsibilities :

The Director of Laboratory Operations ( Anatomic Pathology) is responsible for:

  • Overseeing the day-today operations of applicable areas/departments.

  • Responsible for short- and long-range planning, forecasting operational and capital finances, personnel decisions, clinical test utilization, team member relations, customer experience, logistics, implementation of clinical testing platforms, operational efficiency, and stakeholder relationships which include Pathologists, hospital system/leadership, providers, and other hospital personnel.

  • The Director Laboratory Operations must be well-versed with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 and its amendments.

  • Must be able to lead the team to satisfactory regulatory inspections, maintains a continued state of regulatory readiness and maintain a high national performance in quality and outcome metrics.

  • Must work to achieve top-decile performance under area of responsibility.

  • Responsible for all profit and loss decisions regarding laboratory business operations.

Requirements :

Experience:

  • Required - 5 Years Laboratory Management Experience

  • Experience leading/managing/directing a Pathology Lab

Education:

  • Required - Bachelor's Degree – Related Field

  • Preferred - Master's Degree – Business, Healthcare, or Healthcare Informatics

Credentials:

  • Driver's License – State of Florida Required
