Element provides an essential supply of recycled products to America's battery manufacturers to produce high quality, top performing batteries to power cars, trucks and forklifts, which are vital to keeping our country's supply chain running.

Do you enjoy leading and supporting a small 24/7 operation? As a Breaker Supervisor, you are responsible for the coordination of all first line management functions regarding planning, output, equipment maintenance, management of people, quality, safety, and housekeeping. In this role you will be required to a problem solver that drives Continuous Improvement efforts across the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of hourly battery breaker employees.

  • Ensure safe operation of the battery breaker department in meeting established operating goals and quality standards.Training and scheduling of hourly employees.

  • Communicate with Receiving, Smelting, Maintenance, QA/lab, and other departments to insure continual process consistency and improvement.

  • Hazwoper training will be given due to the handling of hazardous waste.

Qualifications

  • Production background, preferably in a process environment.

  • Ability to supervise and motivate hourly employees.

  • Ability to organize and plan workflow.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of the element Resources Rules and Regulations

  • Lift up to 50lbs or more

  • Climb industrial ladders and stairs

  • Good physical dexterity

  • Ability to hear alarms, mobile equipment and production equipment in an industrial environment while wearing hearing protection

  • Good vision

  • Certification in the use of the following mobile equipment (training will be provided if necessary):

  • Forklift

  • Loader

  • Tractor Trailer or Semi
