General Description: 
This is a job description to record the primary duties and tasks assigned to the position of staff accountant.  This position reports to the assistant controller and serves as a backup to most other accounting functions.
Functions:
  • Accounting
    • Make regular general ledger journal entries via manual and template process
    • Assists in prepare monthly financial statements, schedules and reports
    • Prepare monthly commission spreadsheets and report
    • Prepare various reports and spreadsheets as assigned by the assistant controller.
  • Accounts Payable
    • Act as a backup for the Accounts Payable process and check printing.
  • Accounts Receivable
    • Post customer cash receipts and miscellaneous reimbursements
    • Prepare customer invoices and their transmittal to our customers. Must understand the shipping and auto invoice preparation process
  • Budgeting
    • Assist in the annual budget preparation process
  • Costing / Pricing
    • Assist in the preparation and analysis of the monthly ABC costing spreadsheet
  • Inventory
    • Assist in the preparation and analysis of cycle-count and annual inventories, this includes: raw material, WIP, and finished goods, production tooling, master tooling and other assets.
  • Payroll
    • Process weekly payroll in ADP and Plex
    • Prepare payroll reports and spreadsheets as assigned by the assistant controller
  • Purchasing
    • Act as a backup for processing purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • Other
    • Perform other projects and tasks assigned by the assistant controller or CFO

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited four-year college or university highly preferred.
  • Reputation for ethical decisions and behavior.
  • Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office applications--Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience in Manufacturing and with Plex ERP systems is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organizational skills and an eye for detail.

Mathematical skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent

Reasoning ability:

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
