The Project Management team manages all aspects of a large scale and complex project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget. Design, communicate, and implement an operational plan for completing a project; monitor progress and performance against the project plan; resolve operational problems, minimize delays. Identify, develop, and gather necessary resources to complete the project.

This role in summary:

Whirlpool Corporation is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a Global Quality Leader to to join our Global Dishwasher Engineering Team in North America. This candidate will have an exciting opportunity to interact with global teams and functions to make Whirlpool Corporation the undisputed leader in Quality for Dishwashers. The Dishwasher Global Quality Leader is accountable to drive and manage quality execution, line of sight (LOS) to target the gap assessment, and quality project pipeline health and generation. This leader will be responsible for supporting new project launches, as well as supporting existing product introductions. Additionally, this role determines the project list to be executed by the Business Unit teams, supporting cross functional quality leaders in the project execution.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development and implementation quality initiatives for both New Product Introduction and Existing Product Introduction projects.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify and prioritize data-focused opportunities to drive quality improvements.

  • Responsible for developing roadmaps to achieve green product leadership scorecard metrics for key battleground segments including identifying opportunities to drive 1&2 star improvements.

  • Responsible for performing project risk assessments including FMEA, technical rigor readiness and critical knowledge gaps.

  • Audit the APQP, FMEA’s, CPM and other NPI quality tools.

  • Translate Voice of Consumer to Voice of Engineering requirements for critical projects.

  • Manage end to end quality projects from field phenomenon gathering to solution identification to solution deployment to solution effectiveness monitoring.

  • Measure and report on project success through KPI analysis on a monthly basis with key stakeholders.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related.

  • 10+ years experience in quality assurance functions, NPI (new product introduction) projects, cost & quality and EPI (Existing Product Improvements) initiatives.

  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt.

  • Proven strength in problem-solving abilities, decision making skills, and attention to detail.

  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional and beyond results.

  • Strong computer skills involving Google Suite, Tableau, and SAS Visual analytics.

Preferred skills and experiences:

  • Experience with Major Domestic Home Appliances

  • Additional advanced training, such as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt.

  • Proven experience working autonomously with little oversight and making prudent and informed decisions, often quickly and with limited information.

  • Deep knowledge on quality KPIs (GSIR, TCQ, and 5-star).

  • Proven ability to grow individual and organizational competency through proactive coaching and mentoring.

  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.

  • Demonstrated value of diverse ideas, opinions, experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives needed to foster a competitive global business environment.

  • Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail and proven ability to identify anomalies and trends in data quickly.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes.

  • Ability to create FMEA’s, tolerance stacks.

  • Previous knowledge and experience with APQP systems.
