Kuehne+Nagel Sea Logistics Sales Representative in St John's, Canada

We are looking to hire a Sea Logistics Sales Representative for our Sea Logistics division/office based in St John's.”

Your Role

The Account Executive Sea Logistics – (VS) is the field sales development person within a named area or sub-region responsible to develop business/sales with a focus on the sea logistics product. The Account Executive has the availability to sell other KN products/services including airfreight, road freight, contract logistics, customs, and insurance. The position will be assigned a set number of area accounts as defined by the Regional Sea Logistics Director. This position’s main priority is fostering new business growth of Sea Logistics product, and management of his/her portfolio. Targets to be determined by the Region Sea Logistics Director (ZS).

Your Responsibilities

  • Maximize sales growth through the development of new lane segments, product marketing and customer support strategies;

  • Develop a clear strategy to cultivate existing customer relationships for cross-selling opportunities;

  • Generate and close new business opportunities and develop a strategy for account qualifications;

  • Ensure revenue growth, meet or exceed company sales goals and targets;

  • Develop and manage assigned customers;

  • Create and manage a sales plan and execute that plan to success;

  • Demonstrate expertise on the Sea Logistics product / service offerings and manage the sales of these offerings in a disciplined and direct manner;

  • Develop the skills and experience to sell Airfreight, Road Freight Customs brokerage, contract logistics and insurance services;

  • Interact with clients, schedule meetings, make presentations, and negotiate rate quotations with comfort and ease.

  • Ensure all customers activities is recorded in company CRM system and develop customer intelligence;

  • Service all orders, quotes, follow-ups and customer communication;

  • Produce a sales activity report for management on a weekly basis summarizing activities and new revenue opportunities based on CRM system;

  • Participate in a defined sales meeting;

  • Support Sea Logistics Product Management through competitive analysis, initiating improvements to the service offering, taking an active role in improving Sea Logistics marketing materials.

  • Other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time by the Company.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Requires a minimum of 5 years field sales – it is an asset if the candidate has some previous operational experience

  • Solid PC operational knowledge along with Microsoft Office applications experience.

  • Knowledge of sea logistics services including FCL, LCL, special equipment, consolidations, trans-loading and drayage services.

  • High School Diploma

  • Preferred if candidate possess an undergraduate degree or college certificate

  • Proactive and customer focused, prior Sales and/or Customer Service experience an asset

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Effective presentation and customer relations skills, with excellent listening skills

  • Outstanding organizational skills

  • Good analytical skills with attention to detail

  • Goal oriented, self-disciplined, and self-motivated to produce results

  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Frequent travel required
