Research Clerk\ Fort Kent, ME PT/Days Temp-to-Hire Opportunity\ \ Job Description:\ \ Opening for a part-time Research Clerk with a locally-based organization in Fort Kent. Enjoy a flexible, daytime schedule while providing valuable services for a non-profit organization specializing in environmental studies. May become a permanent opportunity for the right candidate. 20 hours/week; 8:00 AM 5:00 PM, Monday Friday; \$18.00 - \$19.00/hr.\ \ TheResearch Clerk will carry out a variety of administrative duties for the office and assist other staff members as needed. Employee will answer incoming calls and emails, schedule appointments, collect and organize testing samples, file paperwork, and respond to client inquiries. Ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, working knowledge of common office equipment, and previous experience in administrative work and/or environmental studies.

\ Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and emails, schedule appointments, and relay messages.
  • Accurately label and store samples submitted for testing.
  • Collect and organize documents for filing.
  • Receive, organize, and update files in accordance with established protocols.
  • Gather data and prepare reports in a consistent and timely manner.
  • Collect, sort, and distribute mail and other shipments.
  • Run errands and deliver materials as needed.

\ Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in an administrative role.
  • Working knowledge of common office equipment and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience in environmental studies and/or forestry helpful.
  • Federal background check required.
