SMX is seeking a motivated, Quality inspector to join our quality team at NAWCAD WOLF located at Webster Field, MD. The candidate will use AS9100 quality management systems, track and monitor corrective/preventive action processes, and conduct quality inspections of multiple types of cables, assemblies, and platforms.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Inspect cables and assemblies
Ensure that assemblies adhere to drawings, work instructions and manufacturer specifications
Record inspection results by completing reports, summarize re-works and wastes, and input data into a quality database
Train the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence
Propose improvements to production processes
Read and interpret engineering drawings
Keep measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements
Required Skills & Experience
Experience inspecting Mechanical and electrical assemblies and cables
Experience inspecting Fiber optics
Ability to use standard measurement and inspection tool such as gauges, meters, and calipers
Current IPC certifications: J-STD 001 and IPC610
Must be detail focused, independent, and organized
Ability to effectively handle multiple and shifting priorities
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree
Familiarity with ISO 9001
