SMX is seeking a motivated, Quality inspector to join our quality team at NAWCAD WOLF located at Webster Field, MD. The candidate will use AS9100 quality management systems, track and monitor corrective/preventive action processes, and conduct quality inspections of multiple types of cables, assemblies, and platforms.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspect cables and assemblies

  • Ensure that assemblies adhere to drawings, work instructions and manufacturer specifications

  • Record inspection results by completing reports, summarize re-works and wastes, and input data into a quality database

  • Train the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence

  • Propose improvements to production processes

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings

  • Keep measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience inspecting Mechanical and electrical assemblies and cables

  • Experience inspecting Fiber optics

  • Ability to use standard measurement and inspection tool such as gauges, meters, and calipers

  • Current IPC certifications: J-STD 001 and IPC610

  • Must be detail focused, independent, and organized

  • Ability to effectively handle multiple and shifting priorities

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001
