TYPE OF POSITION: Non-Represented Hourly Hours may vary based on program needs REPORTS TO: Building Principals SUPERVISION: None QUALIFICATIONS: Required Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field Knowledge of behavioral management and techniques used with student populations Experience working with students with social and behavioral concerns Preferred Knowledge of positive intervention supports, behavior management, crisis response, de-escalation, and physical restraint Two years' experience working with children in an organized setting One year experience observing and collecting student behavioral charting data Bilingual language skills are preferred for all jobs within this level POSITION SUMMARY: The Behavior/Truancy Interventionist works with administration and staff in maintaining attendance, discipline and a learning environment consistent with site and district policies, mission, and goals. SALARY: $26.00/hr-$32.00/hr (dependent on qualifications and experience) APPLICATION PROCESS: Online application, ; attach documentation supporting required degree PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain accurate records Communicate with families and public Contribute to the school and district Grow and develop professionally Show professionalism Maintain Confidentiality KNOWLEDGE: Ability to work with children and youth who exhibit challenging behavior Knowledge of current state/county regulations related to truancy Basic data collection and documentation skills English language, grammar, and punctuation Basic Computer knowledge SKILLS: Using computers and related software applications Operating modern office equipment Compiling and organizing data and information Receiving and processing a variety of documents and information Proofreading typed materials and documents Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, students, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction TRAINING REQUIRED: Training in emergency procedures, confidentiality, vulnerability, reporting obligations, discipline policies, roles and responsibilities, and a building orientation must be completed during probationary period (first 60 days of employment) Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification must be completed during probationary period (first 60 days of employment) and renewed every two years ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The Behavior/Truancy Interventionist is responsible to Assist the site administration to implement District and Site Discipline and learning environment consistent with site and district policies, mission, and goals Assists with daily, individual student discipline and behavior intervention programming Works with teams and individual staff members in intervention behavior programming Assists with attendance monitoring and truancy prevention Supervise students and assist during non-instructional activities Maintain awareness and observe student's activities/actions assessing behavior including communicating rules, expectations and consequences Promotes the mission and values of the School District Assists in the development and maintenance of a positive learning environment Adhere to federal, state and district student data confidentiality and privacy laws Observe, monitor, and communicate student progress to teachers, parents and administrators Facilitate communication between the County and District related to the Truancy Mediation process and participate in mediation meetings as necessary and appropriate Other duties as assigned PHYSICAL FACTORS: Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions Light Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects All Employees of Saint Cloud School District 742 are responsible to support Di trict goals, to work collaboratively and respectfully with diverse populations of staff, students and parents and to model and promote a welcoming working and learning environment.
