National Dentex Dental-Lab Technician Trainee in St Cloud, Minnesota

Our team is growing, and we are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX Thoele in St. Cloud, MN for a Full-Time Dental-Lab Technician Trainee. Previous experience is not necessary; we offer paid, hands-on training!
The regular hours for this position are from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:
Read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist.
Check metal copings and frameworks for fit, correct pontic design, occlusals support, margins and surface texture (finish).
De-gas and sandblast all copings and frameworks.
Apply opaque wash to copings and frameworks in the correct shade and then apply a first coat of opaque in the correct shade and set on hot plate for a minimum of ten minutes to dry; fire in porcelain oven at correct temperature and for proper length of time.
Sign work cards with technician number.
After firing the first coat, cool units and match to correct models.
Apply a second layer of opaque to the copings and/or framework with proper thickness of opaque, being sure to maintain uniform coverage and place on the hot plate for a minimum of ten minutes to dry.
Clean any excess opaque from collars and inside coping then fire at correct temperature for the required time period, careful not to put in too hot an oven.
Check all completed copings and frameworks for cracks, bubbles, or grayness. Make sure opaque has a high shine finish. If necessary, remove opaque layer and redo.
Sandblast inside of all copings to be sure all opaque is removed and match to the correct models. Be careful not to sandblast opaque off pontic areas or make holes in copings.
Do one day rushes before the regular load.
Maintain clean work area and equipment.
All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities Required:
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
Excellent eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
Ability to use small hand tools
Read and interpret prescriptions and other required documentation.
Ability to effectively communicate technical information
Minimum Education and Experience Required:
Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent
No experience required

Sitting for extended periods at a time
