National Dentex Dental Lab Technician Trainee- Ceramist in St Cloud, Minnesota

Description

Join National Dentex - a leading healthcare organization specializing in the dental industry. We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. Currently, we have 30+ labs throughout the country. Our team is growing, and we are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX Thoele in St. Cloud, MN for a Full-Time Dental Laboratory Technician Trainee. Previous experience is not necessary; we offer paid, hands-on training! However, dental professionals are encouraged to apply!

Hourly rate of pay will be negotiable and determined by skills, knowledge, abilities, and experience.

The regular hours for this position are from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

This is a full-time position featuring employee benefits including: health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; paid holiday, vacation, and sick time; 401K; and tuition reimbursement!

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Completely read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist; clarify questions with supervisor

  • Examine materials in pan, confirm that all items needed are present and in suitable condition, and make sure case is scheduled accurately according to the prescription

  • Choose correct porcelain

  • Build to correct contour, blend and occlusion

  • Contour e-max, zirconia, and posterior porcelain fused to metal according to documented procedures in a priority order

  • Stain and glaze with crown clean-up functions on posterior restorations.

  • Fire at correct temperature

  • Add on when necessary

  • Steam clean required items

  • Place units back onto dies, back onto models

  • Return items to proper pan

  • Complete cases according to work ticket schedule, notify supervisor of late cases

  • Scan and initial cases as required

  • Ensure that all steps and technical team policies are followed, in order, to ensure consistent, accurate results.

  • Review final work and check completely that all quality standards have been met before passing the work to the next technician

  • Manipulate small items and hand tools

  • Operate a blasting unit as well as a steam cleaner

  • Work with hot ovens

  • Shading

  • Ceramage

  • Tooth Tattooing

  • Assist in opaque and model department functions when required

  • Wear proper personal protective equipment when performing work tasks that require them and follow safety guidelines as stated in NDX safety policy

  • Clean work area in assigned department per schedule

  • Support Manager and Director of Operations in creating a positive atmosphere within the department

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager and Director of Operations to aid workflow

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Three (3) years prior experience as a Dental Lab Technician within a Fixed Dental Prosthesis fabrication department preferred.

Physical Requirements:
