St Cloud School District 742 Activities Coordinator - Middle School in St. Cloud, Minnesota

POSITION: Activities Coordinator TYPE OF POSITION: Non-Rep Exempt - 200 Day Calendar Full-time Hours may vary based on program needs Currently hiring for South Junior High SALARY RANGE: $50,000 - $75,000 based on experience and qualifications REPORTS TO: Building Principals/Activities Directors SUPERVISION: Event workers QUALIFICATIONS: Required BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred plus minimum of one year of previous experience working with co-curricular programs, youth and youth educational programs Ability to work effectively with all students Knowledge of principles and practices of administration, supervision, and training Excellent oral and written communication skills Knowledge of Emergency Evacuation procedures and general safety protocol Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with staff, students and community members Ability to understand, interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Proficiency in office productivity software including Microsoft Office, Excel and/or Google Docs Ability to utilize current and emerging technology to deliver efficient service to District staff, students and members of the community Willingness to learn new things and an openness to new ideas and different perspectives POSITION SUMMARY: The Activities Coordinator will be responsible for all Middle Level academic and athletic activities including assisting with the hiring of staff, scheduling events, transportation, coach and parent meetings, communication to families, program evaluation, securing officials/judges, support event setup, uniform inventory control, and attend required Activities meetings as necessary. At the High School level, the Coordinator will assist with officials, custodians, other district staff, and program participants regarding event schedules, transportation, and room assignments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Coordinate the staffing off all middle Level sports and academic activities positions including job postings, interviewing, and selection with hiring agents of each school Develop middle level exposure experiences for activities programs to increase participation rates across a diverse student body Support the development and implementation of elementary activities exposure programs to feed into middle and high school programs Organizing transportation in conjunction with the Activities secretary to all away events Scheduling all contests for Middle Level activities in conjunction with the Central Lakes Conference members Facilitating all pre-season coaches meetings and parent meetings Communication of sports and activities to families and school community through school website, staff newsletters, and parent newsletters End of season program evaluation Organizing officials for all games and events Supporting set-up for home events Ordering, maintaining, checking-out, and checking-in uniforms Attending all Central Lakes Conference Junior High Activities Director meetings (4x/year minimum) Recommends needed facility and equipment improvements and maintenance of Middle Level facilities to Building Principals and Activities Directors Assists High School Activities Director with the process of reviewing activity offerings, interest surveys and expansion or reduction of Middle Level Activities programs for District consistency Assist in the coordination and arranging of high school officials, event workers, and concession workers Assisting in the scheduling of high school co-curricular games/practices Ensure effective communication with Executive Director of Community Education, Activities Director, Principal, coaches, officials, custodians and other district staff, and program participants regarding event schedules, transportation, and room assignments Assist in the supervision and/or provide facility set-up, take down and cleanup for events as directed.
