POSITION SUMMARY

Under general direction, the Maintenance Technician is in charge of performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on equipment. Their duties include fixing machinery, plumbing, heating and wiring, inspecting buildings to confirm safety standards and scheduling major repairs. In all actions, supports LMI’s Quality Policy, Mission Statement and other LMI policies and procedures by supporting our commitment to total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teaming, individual accountability and respect for people.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage

  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures

  • Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs

  • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly

  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof

  • Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries

  • Miscellaneous painting

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on facilities and equipment.

  • Complete required paperwork and documentation.

  • Operate forklift trucks as needed.

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • 3 years experience.

  • Ability to read and understand work orders, memos, blue prints and other work instructions.

  • Electrical and/or HVAC certifications preferred

  • Ability to work with all personnel in a cooperative and pleasant manner.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Strong work ethic.

  • Must be dependable.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time

  • Noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud

  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor including, but not limited to, eye, ear, and foot protection

  • May occasionally lift and /or move up to 10-50 pounds
