"Job#: 2023723 Job Description: Apex Systems is seeking a Project Engineer to join a team located onsite in Saint Charles, MO. This role will supportprograms thatinclude Direct Attack weaponsand Cruise Missilesutilized on various military aircraft, some ground-based platforms, and other future contract awards.This position will work closely with the program managers, contracts, estimating, supply chain, engineering, and/or customers to execute the program. This role can encompass both Program Integrator positions which support the product program manager and International Projects Manager positions which support the International Execution Program Manager.Responsibilities:Work with internal and external customers to identify requirements and build plans to support their needsTrack progress to cost, schedule, and technical performance using Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) and Earned Value Management (EVM)Support the development of customer proposals, including development of competitive pricing and delivery datesEngage regularly with supply chain leadership to monitor supplier quality and performanceResolve technical issues through coordination with engineering and the Chief EngineerManage deliverables by defining plans for risk mitigation, issues, and opportunities; and, monitoring baseline plans to assess project performance, productivity, and lessons learnedBrief customers and leadership on program status; risks, issues, and opportunities; and help neededStandardize, develop, and document processesMay also provide support for Correction Action Requests (CARs) received by the program; export authority support; and lean/process improvementsQualifications:Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistryProject Management Professional Certification a plus5+ years of experience in an engineering role required5+ years leading or managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects teams requiredExperience with proposal development and contracting negotiations preferredExperience with Export Compliance or International programs a plusExperience developing and tracking program plans/schedules and budgets for technical projects desired5+ years of experience supporting weapons systems a plus5+ years of experience working directly with government customers desired5+ years of experience collaborating across functions and organizations preferredOther requirements:Domestic and/or international travel as required to support program executionThis position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.
