The purpose of this position is to perform clerical and administrative support services to City Hall under the direction of the Finance Director.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Screens incoming City Hall phone calls, greets and directs visitors, receives and relays correspondence; provide courteous and genuine customer service; responds to requests for information; transfer calls to appropriate Department Director, other staff or outside party.

  • Receive City Hall mail and deliveries and sort as appropriate.

  • Prepares outgoing mail.

  • Maintains a petty cash box.

  • Maintains the pooled vehicle log.

  • Helps with Collection activities.

  • Notarizes documents.

    Minimum Training and Experience Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Proficient use of standard office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Ability to provide courteous and friendly customer service that anticipates stated or unstated needs of individuals and attempts to provide additional suggestions for assistance.

    Work Environment

    The office environment is typical with no unusual requirements. Some travel between city facilities may be required.
