Hiring Concrete Finishers

Ideal candidates have:

Reliable transportation

Minimum 4 years experience with Flatwork, Cutting lines, Running Floats

Job Description:

-Perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor for concrete projects

-Clean and prepare job sites, dig trenches, set braces to support form work

-Understand and execute concrete procedures to meet with specifications of the project.

-Setting forms that hold concrete in place.

-Pouring, smoothing, and leveling concrete using a rake, trowel, float and screed.

-Ensure poured concrete is laid and finished to the highest standard Operate equipment as needed.

-projects will primarily be in town work but there is some out of town work expected. 90% will be in town 10% out of town (out of town will have $50 per diem available)

  • With the nature of concrete pouring there can be long days and even some over night shifts depending on project deadlines

Concrete Finishers Must Have/Be:

  • Leadership experience running crews

  • Valid Fall Protection and Confined Space Training certificates are assets

  • Ability to layout and install concrete rebar

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and shop drawings

  • Open to working Saturdays during the busy season.

Required:

PPE/dress code - company supplies vest, hard hat, and safety glasses. Concrete finishers need to provide work boots, gloves, and tool belt with basic tools. Jeans and a long sleeves.

Team Size:

Not a major GC so things are a lot smaller, and they work together as a big team.

Will be working on a team as small as 2 and as large as 20 or more depending on the project. They will report to the site foreman. They will not have any direct reports but may be responsible for the direction of laborers.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday

Start Time 7:00 am

Typical End Time: 5:00 pm *Overtime during the season is VERY COMMON. Applicants must be willing to work 50-60 hours per week.

Overtime:

50-60 total hours per week is common during the busy season.

Overtime is accumulated after 8 hours in a given day or 44 hours in a given week.

Work conditions:

Projects are located outside. Contractors must be able to work in all weather conditions that permit the pouring of concrete
