+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Under the direction of the City Forester and the guidance of the City | | Arborist, performs duties essential to maintaining the urban forest. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | - Performs tree pruning, removals, planting, and other | | general maintenance. | | | | - Operates and maintains equipment related to tree | | maintenance such as chainsaws, brush chippers, stump grinders, | | backhoe, bucket truck, etc. | | | | - Assists in gathering data for the City tree inventory. | | | | - Assists in hazard assessment and diagnosis of tree health. | | | | - Assists with Parks and Canyon Parks maintenance as | | necessary. | | | | | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | -All other duties as assigned. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Employee must have a high school diploma. Employee should have at | | least three years experience in Parks, tree care and maintenance. | | Employee should maintain a CDL. | | | | Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | | | | Employee should be skilled in the operation of equipment related to | | tree care and maintenance. Employee must be able to keep detailed | | records. Employee must have knowledge of tree maintenance, planting, | | identification, hazard assessment, removal, and diagnosis of tree | | health.
