Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies has an opening for Space Operations Shift Staff member for an important national security program.

The successful candidate will support a high performing team of Government and Contractor professionals to monitor, analyze, assess, and deliver – mission status, courses of action, anomaly investigation, and decision support information to senior decision makers in support of the Space Warfighting Mission. The candidate will be pivotal in supporting the health and safety of multiple ground and space assets and the infrastructure nodes. The successful candidate will have experience with space operations, COA and TTP execution, and the Space Warfighting mission. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated the ability to operate in a dynamic and high energy environment with constantly changing tasking and priorities. This position will be supporting the Space Superiority Business Division of the Space Superiority and Geospatial Sector within the Space and Airborne Systems Segment.

Essential Functions:

  • Support as a crew member on 24x7 shifts – currently 12 hours on a rotation of days and nights. The crew works with their lead and program management over time to implement schedule modifications which best balance personal preference and mission needs.

  • Maintain awareness of threats to space operations and high-interest events

  • Operate and perform analysis in STK and other commercial and government-developed tools.

  • Directly inform COA/TTP decision-making.

  • Log daily shift activities and significant events/incidents.

  • Generate, share, present briefings and products for senior leadership and enterprise awareness.

  • Support onboarding of new and enhanced tools.

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

  • Satellite operations experience.

  • Active Top-Secret clearance with CI Poly required.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with basic orbital mechanics.

  • Familiarity with DoD/NRO spacecraft and missions.

  • Experience using astrodynamics tools such as STK, GMAT, and ODTK is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
