Fortive Corporation Software Engineer in Springfield, Virginia

At Tektronix, our SONIX team has been a consistent innovator in non-destructive testing - being the first company to bring PC-based, digital imaging solutions to our customers. We have continued to push the technology envelope and provide our customers with outstanding inspection technologies and engineering advancements. We are seeking a creative software engineer to join our team in crafting our next generation of acoustic microscope software and exploring ground breaking software technologies to keep pace with the demands of our broad customer base. Together we work globally to resolve intricate problems and collaborate on the design and build of next generation solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain next-gen software platform for Sonix systems, encompassing image acquisition, machine control, processing, analysis, network integration, and reporting.

  • Design and implement new software systems from proof of concept to production release.

  • Collaborate with peers across the company for brainstorming, design, and research.

  • Gather project requirements from customers and Sonix representatives.

  • Provide accurate time estimates for project completion.

  • Implement software solutions using C# and .NET while upholding high-quality standards.

  • Offer remote support for global service teams and customers.

  • Diagnose and resolve software issues in current and legacy products at customer sites.

  • Conduct occasional onsite support and installations for domestic and international customers.

  • Actively participate in quality assurance testing of the application.

  • Apply systems to test software solutions and ensure they meet customer expectations.

Qualifications:

  • High proficiency in designing algorithms for solving complicated tasks.

  • Strong problem solving and software development skills, using .NET and C#

  • Experience with advanced software engineering concepts (Threading, Multiprocessing, Advanced Data Structures)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Visual Studio, SVN, Jira or similar software tools

  • Experience with software design, design patterns, coding standards

  • Strong dedication to quality, attention to detail, and proven track record of time management

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to optimally communicate at all levels of the organization

  • Ability and desire to travel internationally (1-3 trips per year)
