Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Software Engineer on their Kayenne Program. The Kayenne Program builds and maintains a secure, hybrid environment that facilitates high priority defense initiatives, as well as develops and deploys highly-available software applications for data ingest, interaction, and dissemination. As a Software Engineer on the Kayenne Analytics Team, you’ll work as a part of a small team that focuses on advancing and automating GEOINT tradecraft. The team has worked for several years to develop sophisticated realtime automated analytics and sensemakers built on a mostly-Java baseline. The team will continue to ingest new data sources and advance current R&D analytic capabilities while taking on the additional challenge of moving the capability through security accreditation and into a fully operational state on the larger Kayenne programs ops baseline. The Kayenne Software Engineer is expected to successfully lead the transition to ops. You will also act in the role of scrum master for the ongoing development, so a good understanding of agile software development practices and Jira are important. A small amount of control account management is also part of the role, so it is useful to have experience with planning and being able to analyze and explain variances.

Required: Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with agile tracking tools (JIRA, GitLab, GitHub, etc); Familiarity with agile methodologies and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements.

• Experience programming with Python, Java, JavaScript, Ansible, Bash, and/or PowerShell

• Experience with accrediting software applications for operations; including preparing security documentation, preparing security testing procedures, and/or verifying test

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance will be required to start with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Poly

Preference for this requisition will be given to Space Employees.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with transitioning systems from development to ops, as well as a foundational understanding of software development life cycles, DevOps tools, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD.

• Previous Scum Master experience

• Experience with Geospatial Intelligence data and systems

• Understanding of log analysis tools and techniques, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)

• Knowledge of performance metrics, thresholds, and alerts to proactively identify and address issues

• Knowledge of application software methods to provide monitoring of system resources, status alerts, and return to health remedies

• Knowledge of application, network, and infrastructure security best practices, including secure coding principles and threat modeling

• Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities and familiarity with security automation and orchestration tools, compliance requirements and industry standards

• Familiarity AWS and containerization technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)

• Experience working in cross-functional teams and facilitating collaboration between customers, development, operations, security teams, and program leadership.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting issues, communicating with team members, and reporting to stakeholders.
