POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the execution a balanced facilities program consisting of long term and short term facility maintenance, material handling maintenance, landscape maintenance, energy management, waste management, environmental compliance, preservation of taxidermy, live exhibits supervision, and service contractor management. This position is dedicated to a specific location or campus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise in house maintenance staff and manages service contractors.

  • Execute a balanced maintenance program consisting of preventive and routine maintenance, work order service requests, project management, and emergency response.

  • Maintain ongoing energy conservation and effective, measured, energy management.

  • Execute a comprehensive waste management program that focuses on solid waste reduction, reuse, and recycling. This is a measured program focused on the end objective of zero landfill rating (90% or greater diversion of solid waste).

  • Maintain Pollution Prevention and Environmental Compliance as outlined in the site specific PPEC master schedule.

  • Maintain preservation of the taxidermy asset to include periodic cleaning and supervising service providers to deliver a comprehensive pest control program.

  • Work in partnership with Base Camp Facilities team for facilities related financial approvals and best practice.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four year college degree in industrial management preferred, or related field and 8 years of progressive facility management experience in a distribution center, or 15 years progressive DC facility management experience in-lieu of degree.

  • Must possess a high level of mechanical aptitude and have a comprehensive working knowledge of electricity, fire suppression systems, mechanical systems, conveyor systems, and PLC’s.

  • Must pass a drivers background check, and possess a valid driver license.

  • Must be experienced in maintenance related work. Experience that demonstrates skill in various building trades listed above.

  • Must have good customer service attitude. Must be polite, engaging, and have a courteous demeanor.

  • Working knowledge of RS200 Sortation Systems, Allen Bradley PLCs, Siemen Controls, Profibus Technology, and CORS (Compass Order Routing System) is a plus.

  • Must be effective at identifying and engaging resources available for effective problem resolution.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Ability be able read and analyze building plans, and quotes for service.

  • Must have reasonable writing skills sufficient to communicate effectively with business correspondence.

  • Must possess effective verbal communication skills to present information, and answer questions.

  • Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to groups.

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, associates, customers and with the base camp team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires continuous use of gross motor skills, near/far vision, color definition, hearing, and speech.

  • Requires frequent standing, walking, lifting up to 80 lbs, carrying up to 25 lbs, eye/hand coordination, stepping up and down, climbing up to but not limited to 30 feet from the floor, use of fine motor skills, works in difficult and confined spaces, pushes, pulls or utilizes manual and bi-manual dexterity. Must be in good physical condition without limitations for lifting, standing, and walking, and working at height.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

  • Performs duties within scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.
