WorkSource Oregon Manual Machinist (Part Time) in SPRINGFIELD, Oregon

Are you a machinist with strong work ethic? Are you organized, process focused and willing to learn new skills? Do you take pride in completing your duties accurately and timely and work with others in harmony as part of a team? If so, we are looking for a machinist to join our team! JOB DUTIES: - Tube and Sheet Lay-up work with polyester cloth & resin (not fiberglass). - The tube-and-sheet-layup job can be messy for persons who aren\'t neat and tidy. Those that are neat and tidy can keep themselves clean and unmarked by resin, throughout the day. PPE is supplied in the form of aprons, nitrile gloves and dust masks, overalls and fitted respirators are also available for that operation. - General machine shop maintenance duties. Some lifting, up to 50 pounds (not often). Some machining work (after training). - Mix 5-gallon buckets of resin & lubricants (40 lbs.) several times a day. - Fill bucket and lift that full bucket by the handle and transport it 25 to 50 feet. - Lift rolls of polyester cloth as part of a two-person job; each one carries half the load, approximately 50 pounds each. - Calculate dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments, including micrometers. - Set up, adjust, and operate manual lathe to perform precision machining operations. JOB REQUIREMENTS: - High school diploma or GED - At least one year lathe operating experience - Employer will conduct a drug test WAGE, HOURS: - Wages: \$15.50 to \$20.00+, DOE - Hours/Schedule: Part time*, Tue - Thu, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, Holidays off *Possibility of part time position becoming full time position at a later date.
