ASSOCIATED ELECTRIC COOP Office Assistant in Springfield, Missouri

We are currently seeking applicants for an Office Associate position in the Building Services Department of our Accounting and Finance Division located in Springfield, MO.

The Building Services Office Associate has responsibilities for shipping, receiving, office mail, meeting set up and break down, and stocking office and kitchen supplies. With a focus on customer service, the Office Associate must work closely with the Executive Team, AECI Board of Directors, all employees requesting meeting meals and drinks, and the Building Services Maintainers to set up tables and chairs. The Office Associate must also have an understanding of mailing options and AECIs postage equipment. Good interpersonal skills are a must due to the daily contact with all employees at headquarters, the Board of Directors, as well as outside vendors.

Job Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Achieve and maintain knowledge on AECIs mailing addresses and location of Divisions.
  • Ability to communicate recommendations for operational improvements directly with the supervisor.
  • Perform cleaning duties, following established cleaning practices, to achieve and maintain overall cleanliness and tidiness.

To achieve the requirements of this position, job duties involve continuous lifting of 1-10 pounds; frequent lifting of 11-21 pounds; and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Job duties also involve frequent walking (60% of the time); sitting; repetitive motion; and dexterity (including but not limited to frequently pulling/pushing carts of mail/food). The position also requires frequent viewing of computer displays.
