Refugee Wellness and Cultural Orientation Coordinator Jewish Family Service of Western Massachusetts is a dynamic organization committed to providing a wide range of services and support to individuals and families in our community. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Coordinator of Group Programming for Refugee Health and Well-being. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing programs that focus on the health, mental health, psychosocial well-being, and integration of refugees. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program management, a deep understanding of refugee issues, and a passion for creating supportive environments for vulnerable populations. Position Details: Position: Refugee Wellness and Cultural Orientation Coordinator Department: New American Program Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Reports to: Assistant Director, Refugee Self-Sufficiency Location: Springfield, MA Responsibilities Program Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive group programming strategy that addresses the health, mental health, and psychosocial needs of refugees. Design and oversee programs that support the successful integration of refugees into their new communities. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the alignment of programming with the unique needs of the refugee population. Team Management: Supervise and lead a team of health promotion staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of programs. Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities for team members. Gender-Based Violence Prevention: Manage and oversee gender-based violence prevention capacity building initiatives. Coordinate and facilitate support groups for individuals affected by gender-based violence, ensuring a safe and empowering environment. Community Engagement: Work closely with community leaders, partner organizations, and key stakeholders to strengthen community engagement and support networks for refugees. Organize and participate in community events and outreach activities to promote awareness and understanding of refugee issues. Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation: Track enrollments in grant-funded programs in RISIS and CaseWorthy databases, complete required reporting to funders as required. Implement monitoring and evaluation systems to assess the effectiveness of programs and identify areas for improvement. Qualifications A bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in a relevant field (social work, public health, international development, etc.). Proven experience in program management, particularly in the context of refugee support and health promotion. Strong knowledge of issues related to refugee health, mental health, and psychosocial well-being. Experience in managing and leading teams, with a focus on creating a positive and collaborative work environment. Familiarity with gender-based violence prevention strategies and capacity building initiatives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. We offer a competitive compensation package.
