This position is a dual role that is responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance work control processes by managing work priority, developing job plans, defining parts, materials, crafts and skills. Assigns work control plans to appropriate Supervisors for execution by the hourly maintenance staff. Provides equipment-related expertise; technical guidance on improving maintenance activities and may supervise both hourly Smithfield employees and contractors as required. This position is the owner / manager of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) at the plant level. The position is also responsible for the administration of the facility Process Safety Management regulation to meet the requirements of 29 CFR 1910.119 as well as maintaining/updating the documentation supporting the facility implementation of the fourteen (14) elements of the Process Safety Management program. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions. Bachelor?s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required. Experience in the supervision of day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance, strongly preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of basic computer skills, Internet and Microsoft Office including Word and Excel. Project management software experience is preferred. Knowledge of the CMMS system, preferred. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment. Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment. Supervisory Responsibilities Provides leadership and guidance to employees in the Maintenance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization\'s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions.
