Kitchen Coordinator - Day Care Part-time \$16.50/hr. M-F POSITION SUMMARY: Handles all food service items of the school food program which includes breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks received daily by the Food Service Vendor. Responsible for all related shopping for the infant program. Maintains kitchen, utensils, and equipment clean, sanitary, and organized. All offers of employment are contingent on the results from BRC, CORI, DCF, and Fingerprint checks. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. REPORTING AUTHORITY: The Kitchen Coordinator is selected and reports to the Director of the Early Learning Center. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages the food delivery of meals, drinks, and supplies received daily by the Food Service Program. Assures hot foods and cold foods are handled and stored appropriately in a safe and sanitary manner, and at an appropriate temperature. Ensures that foods are not served beyond the recommended dates of use. Takes and records all food temperatures. Coordinates meal trays with healthy and appealing food provided by the Food Service Program that meets the U.S.D.A. guidelines for each child\'s nutritional and dietary needs and feeding requirements. Follows any dietary restriction guidelines set by the doctor or a parent. Distributes all meals and snacks to each classroom, daily, M-F in a safe and sanitary manner. Ensures the entire kitchen area is clean and orderly. Maintains daily sanitation practices: Cleans serving counters, utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment; sweeps or mops up spills on floors; keeps storage rooms, stove and oven, refrigerators, and freezers clean and sanitary. Hand washes utensils, trays, and dishes as necessary to remove food; rinses and sanitizes. Monitors kitchen area for needed supplies, equipment maintenance and/or replacement, and other inspections to ensure safety and health code compliance. Completes computer reports indicating the total number of children attending the food service company daily. Orders milk weekly, and reports any changes (amount needed, center closings, etc.) to the service company. Communicates any issues with delivery to the food service company & the Director of Child Care. Tracks receipt, timeliness of delivery, quantity, and quality of food orders. Takes and records all freezer and refrigerator temperatures daily. Shops for baby food, and other supplies for the infant program, as needed on a bi-monthly basis. Stores foods and supplies; Takes and maintains an inventory of classroom food supplies used by teachers; Replenishes as needed; Dates all food items and discards those that have expired. Mixes disinfectant bottles for classrooms daily. Distributes and stores appropriately. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
