Description:

Come help lead our Pharmacy team at Mercy Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health Of New England!

Position Purpose

Oversees and supervises the clinical operations of the Pharmacy Department with regard to therapeutic drug monitoring, Quality Improvement (QI), Drug Use Evaluations (DUE), policies and protocols for the safe and effective use of medications, Pharmacy & Therapeutics(P&T) Committee, drug formulary maintenance, Adverse Drug Reactions/Events (ADR & ADE) monitoring and drug information. Responsible for residency programs.

What you will do

  • Organize, implement, and monitor the clinical pharmacy services of the department to promote safe, effective and cost-effective medication use; may include clinical research and pharmacoeconomic analysis

  • Develop and maintain programs for the organized delivery of technical and clinical services essential to effective direct patient monitoring

  • Serve as residency program director, responsible for all administrative and clinical duties for residents, preceptors and program sustainability and improvements

  • Oversee education of pharmacists, patients and other healthcare providers on planned initiatives, therapeutic substitutions, drug information, and formulary compliance

  • Provide educational resources and programs to support the clinical pharmacy program

  • Manage the clinical staff including hiring, training, performance evaluations, discipline and terminations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree [PharmD] and three (3) to five (5) years of previous related hospital pharmacy experience. Previous management experience preferred

  • Licensure required as a Pharmacist in Massachusetts

  • Completion of an American Society for Health System pharmacists (ASHP) Pharmacy Practice Residency and Board Certification in Pharmacy is required
