Quality Control Technician - JR2416052 & JR2416053

 

DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Quality Control Technician, you will work onsite in our Springdale, PA plant. You will test raw material and finished good properties of samples that come into QC Lab. You are responsible for property testing that is reported to production and to the customer. It is important for test results to be accurate and completed in the needed timeframe.

You will report to the Manager of Quality Services & Manufacturing Support. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.

Key Responsibilities  * Sample testing; i.e. viscosity, pH and density and determining adjustments  * Communicate adjustments and results to other departments  * Reduction of batch samples for spray-outs  * Hand spray panels for defect analysis  * Low-level analytical testing of intermediates  * Check the calibration of equipment  * Maintain a clean and organized workspace  * Follow all procedures and safety protocols

Qualifications  * High School diploma or equivalent skills.  * Two (2) years of Quality Control experience with chemical or coatings manufacturing environment required.  * College chemistry and math desired, but basic knowledge of mathematics and scientific principles required.
