Major Position Responsibilities Gathers information to evaluate current manufacturing work processes in order to determine the flow of work, time requirements, costs and duration . Participates in design reviews of new products and continues reviews of proposed changes affecting product baseline data. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and work force utilization. Works closely with production operators and technicians to reduce waste and optimize efficiency. Determines equipment and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification. Designs new and maintains existing engineering designs for gaging, tooling, part drawings and production fixtures as well as the plant layout. Assists in determining cost estimates for manufacture of new and existing product lines Provides technical engineering support to manufacturing operations, quality, maintenance and supply chain. Drives and leads continuous improvement projects. Basic Qualifications Demonstrated leadership in project implementation, integrative thinking skills, with a strong focus on continuous improvement initiatives. Ability to program and teach robots to support the operations. Fluent in CNC programming for lathes Capable of programming and troubleshooting PLC's Must excel in a team environment. Assertive, detailed individual with strong follow-up; proactive with excellent people management capabilities. Has strong sense of urgency to improve performance. Must have strong communication (written and verbal) to be develop effective relationships with production personnel as well as other departments and management. Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and lean tools. Must be proficient in SolidWorks. Education and/or Experience Bachelors' degree in applicable field of study (prefer Mech Eng degree), or equivalent work experience. 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
