HP Inc. Managed Monitoring Services- Automation Engineer in Spring, Texas

Job Description

To support HP Managed Monitoring Services, we are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer who can develop scripts and automated solutions to support HP strategic accounts and provide ongoing value to HP customers in different areas of operations.

The focus of the role is to work with Technical Service Delivery Managers (TDM) and data analysts to solve employee experience issues for customers proactively. The role is expected to work collaboratively with TDMs, Professional Services & Customer Success teams.

The primary responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Advise enterprise customers on solving common end-user computing challenges and achieving the desired digital employee experience.

  • Develop Remote Action scripts to assist customers with incident and problem management on endpoints and to facilitate data collection.

  • Configure and maintain content on digital employee experience management platforms such as HP Proactive Insights and Nexthink

  • Work with customers to handle testing, pilot, and production deployment of Remote Action scripts.

  • Interface with customer internal service owners, stakeholders and support customers' initiatives on PIXM areas of operations

  • Stay current on new product development/releases to a level required for the above activities.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS preferred in computer science and computer engineering.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software development or scripting in extensive IT environments, knowledge of source control systems (e.g., Github), continuous integration, code review processes, and experience working in a Scrum Agile development environment

  • Extensive understanding of Microsoft Windows operating system internals, such as WMI, Windows registry, Windows APIs, Windows event logs

  • Extensive knowledge of Windows PowerShell, Bash, and Python scripting

  • Experience with scripting for management of O365 apps and collaboration tools such as Teams, Zoom

  • Experience integrating processes with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow

  • Experience working with REST APIs and Webhooks

  • Good knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and applications

  • Good knowledge of end-user computing best practices and endpoint management tools such as SCCM, Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace One, Jamf

  • Good knowledge of IT operations and ITIL methodology

  • Working knowledge of data analysis tools and how to apply data to achieve desired outcomes

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

  • Enthusiasm for working in a global, collaborative, fast-paced environment and learning new technologies

  • Preferred: Experience with digital employee experience management platforms such as HP Proactive Insights, Nexthink, 1E Tachyon, and VMware Workspace One Intelligence; knowledge of HP Manageability tools such as HP CMSL, HPIA, HP Connect, and Windows debugging experience.

  • Plus: Knowledge of MacOS operating systems internals and applications
