Overview

Responsible for transporting several types of construction equipment and materials throughout and between jobsites

Responsibilities

Load and unload equipment and materials Secure loads, is aware of load limits (weights) Vehicle and equipment maintenance Haul counterweights for cranes Haul water, sand and gravel Ensure safety procedures are adhered to at all times Communicate equipment and material issues between the office/shop/jobsite Daily inspection of truck Obtain required permits Maintain a safe driving record Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean and making sure required inspections are performed Advise Superintendent if trucks need major repairs and maintenance Other duties as assigne

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred One year certificate from college or technical school and/or one to two years related experience Previous experience with transporting construction equipment and materials Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Take reasonable care of your own and others health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek's Zero Injury principles Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos Write simple correspondence Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized MasTec, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
