Envirocon, Inc. Resident Field Technician - 230367 in Spokane, Washington

Modern Machinery has immediate opportunities for full-time, journey-level, highly motivated, self-directed Heavy Equipment Resident Field Service Technician in the Wenatchee, Ellensburg, or Yakima, Washington areas. Candidates must be well established in the heavy equipment repair and maintenance industry with at least three to five years of experience operating a field service truck. The hourly pay range for this position is: $30.00 to $51.00

  • Must demonstrate troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Respond to all customer requests courteously, professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time along with walking, climbing ladders and stairs, reaching, pulling, leaning, and twisting.
  • Must have excellent time management skills.
  • Must be able to work well independently or with others in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure, within deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Must be reliable, honest and have a strong work ethic.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and orally with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A two or four-year technical degree as it relates to the heavy equipment industry is preferred.
  • Class A or B CDL required.
  • Must be experienced with accurately using an ELD and maintaining compliance with DOT hours of service.
  • Hydraulic, engine, electrical troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Preferred experience working on mining and construction drills.
  • Prior dealership experience is beneficial.
  • A minimum of three-five years of verifiable experience repairing heavy equipment in a field service truck. Experience with Komatsu as the primary equipment line is preferred, all others may apply.
  • Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office products and electronic service information systems.

Pre-Employment Testing:

  • This is a safety sensitive position subject to pre-employment testing, including cannabis.

As a Resident Field Technician, you will report to the Service Manager in our Spokane, WA branch, or their designee.

Demonstrate Modern Machinery's core values and promote the mission and vision of the company.

Follow all company policies, processes, procedures. Exercise safe work practices to contribute to the achievement of the company's safety goals.

Independently troubleshoot and repair all systems (electrical, hydraulic, A/C, power train, etc.) on Komatsu and other Modern Machinery affiliated product lines.

  • Operate equipment as needed to assist in locating and diagnosing the failure.
  • Utilize hand and power tools and electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Read and interpret complex hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Perform diagnostic testing and tuning of equipment.
  • Have the experience and ability to determine the extent of the repair and the corrective action required.

Follow all safety rules and policies while performing all work assignments as specified in company handbooks.

  • Adhere to any additional customer requirements, safety related and otherwise when working on a customer's site.

Assess parts to determine the cause of failure and/or their reusability.

  • Communicate with parts department personnel to order the necessary parts required to complete repair(s).

Perform assignments in a variety of environments, including the field, on customer's sites and in the shop.
