Interim Plant Controller

Jefferson Wells has an immediate need for a strong Plant Controller to join one of our premier clients! This is a 100% on site position based in Spokane, Washington.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Our client needs an interim plant controller to assist their accounting team for a 3 month minimum, with a high possibility of extension. The client is currently struggling to handle month end close smoothly, and is looking for a controller to oversee and maintain their closing process. The controller will be tasked with reviewing these journal entries, forecasting, budgeting, and more.

The Interim Plant Controller should be:

• Providing insight and thought leadership into business and cost trends and recommend ongoing improvements. Key role in strategic planning for the business.

• Lead accounting close process and explanation of monthly financial performance and coordinate with Corporate Accounting to ensure that costs are recorded accurately.

• Lead review Balance Sheet for business to ensure that all balances are appropriate and are reconciled on a monthly basis. Participate in year-end audits.

• Lead in the preparation of monthly financial reporting, analysis, and presentations for review with leadership.

• Proactively identify, analyze and communicate cost trends and issues affecting the business. Participate in the development, measurement, and reporting of key business metrics across all areas of the business (weekly, monthly vs targets).

• Lead annual budget process and interim business forecasting processes for business. Provide leadership in developing a cost accounting process for the business to provide a more thorough understanding of product costs and production variances.

• Assist in the development of capital projects, including project justification and post-implementation reporting.

• Conduct regular analysis of inventory levels and turns.

• Provide ad-hoc support for operations or business analyses.

• Take an active role in Lean Management System and EQDC reporting process for business.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Accounting, or Finance required. Master’s Degree a plus 7+ years of accounting and financial analysis experience required and 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing industry

• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections with a

• strong attention to detail.

• Must have strong technical and analytical skills with solid cost accounting background

• Ability to handle multiple priorities with attention to detail and an ability to work independently

• Demonstrated ability to make solid, objective, ethical decisions and solve problems

• Ease in communicating and partnering with all levels in the organization

• Demonstrable experience with PCs, financial spreadsheets and accounting software

• Must have experience working with ERP system (financial, controlling, asset and inventory management, cost accounting, operations – sales / production), SAP preferred Proficient with Microsoft Office products CPA or CMA a plus
