Position Overview

At Polaris / Indian Motorcycle, we are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our high-performing team at the Spirit Lake, IA assembly plant. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team supporting the production line for our iconic Indian Chief Motorcycle. You'll ensure top-notch quality standards and drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes. Join us and be part of a legacy that celebrates innovation and excellence!

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the quality initiatives for an Indian Motorcycle production line, ensuring daily and long-term goals are met.

  • Supervise a small team of (4) quality personnel, guiding and supporting their development.

  • Maintain and enhance the manufacturing quality system to uphold our high standards.

  • Serve as the frontline liaison to production supervisors and staff, conducting troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.

  • Review and communicate performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Assist in specifying inspection, testing mechanisms, and equipment to maintain quality assurance.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production teams to ensure the successful launch of new motorcycle platforms.

  • Participate in design reviews and identify significant and critical features on blueprints.

  • Establish and document critical assembly component criteria and process control information.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Engineering OR degree in a different field with at least one year of manufacturing production experience.

  • Preferred experience in Quality Control.

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
