Highland Baking Company, Inc. Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician in Spartanburg, South Carolina

Key Functions: The Multi-Craft Maintenance technician will provide maintenance support to Operations and lead preventative maintenance work. Demonstrates willingness and ability to act promptly to meet Bakery needs in an environment where safety is always the lead consideration before performing any task. Able to fully cross train in all areas of maintenance which includes but is not limited to, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic for both troubleshooting and preventative maintenance. Willing to attend training both onsite and offsite, as required. Utilize computerized maintenance systems and the ability to demonstrate systemic troubleshooting decision making. Dedicated, self-motivated individual who will actively participate in meetings, team feedback, and team building.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will have 3 years industrial maintenance millwright and electrical experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts, to include weekends, holidays, and overtime as schedule requires. Must be proficient in a minimum of two areas including electricity, electronics, PLC, logic, mechanical troubleshooting, power transmission, welding, steam systems, compressed air systems and hydraulics. Must be self- motivated with the ability to work alone when required Must read and understand blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics. Experience using maintenance tools. Ability to work at heights, heat, and extreme cold conditions. Personal and total commitment to observe all safety rules and regulations, to include ability to wear all required personal protective equipment Must have commitment in learning with all Food Safety, GMP and HACCP regulations. High school diploma or GED Preferred: Electrical skills. Mechanical skills PLC programming skills AC/DC drive experience. HVAC Skills Air Compressors and compressed air systems skills Boiler and steam system skills Ammonia Refrigeration experience a plus 3-5yrs experience or trade school certificate, diploma equivalent.

The position requires physical activity such as reaching, bending, twisting, squatting, lifting 50 pounds or more, and standing for 8-12 hours daily. Full-time employees are eligible for insurance, holiday pay, paid vacation time, sick days, medical and paternal leave, and 401K with options.
