SUMMARY: Troubleshoots mechanical and electrical equipment, performs repairs and schedules maintenance work based on customer needs and requirements. Dedicated to customer satisfaction, responding in a timely, polite and professional manner.

MINIMUM/PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Effectively communicates with customers, co-workers and management.

``` - Secondary school graduate with one to three years of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic experience. May include equivalent college or vocational school education. Has strong mechanical and electrical aptitude

``` - Has the ability to understand the necessary service and training manuals, including the ability to interpret schematics and effectively use electrical diagnostic instruments.

``` - Keep pace with industry innovations in order to make sound recommendations to customers.

``` - Can safely operate power tools, lifts, hoists and hydraulic jacks.

``` - Has the ability to perform strenuous and heavy work, can exert force up to 100 pounds on occasion and frequently handle loads to 50 pounds. Must have the physical stamina to perform continuously with full body motion for climbing, reaching, pushing, lifting and reaching, etc.

**Working condition:** Work is performed in a maintenance environment with potential equipment movement hazards as well as exposure to chemicals and solvents that require knowledge of proper safety procedures. Work is performed at customer locations, including manufacturing, warehouses, cold storage facilities and in other 'difficult' or outdoor environments. The demands of the position often exceed normal working conditions. Company workloads may require work after hours or on weekends.

``` - Expertly analyzes and diagnoses customer equipment problems and breakdowns. Recommends the correct service and repair actions to resolve equipment performance problems.

``` - Accurately and neatly documents each service call, providing the necessary paperwork.

Other duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintains the company service vehicle in a clean, orderly and hazard-free manner. This includes the responsibility for the performance of regular maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, etc.
