WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Fiberglass Technician is a key position at our custom fiberglass shop in Sparks, Nevada. From start to finish you are responsible for the production of quality fiberglass products. Working in our busy manufacturing shop, you will be on your feet moving quickly through the tasks of your day helping us meet customer needs. What we do here is specialized and we are willing to train new hires that have the qualities needed to be successful in this role.

Reporting to our operations manager, you’ll work on a close knit team; theability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team is imperative.

A highlight of your day-to-day may include:

  • Using manufacturing planning, written instructions, work order travelers, schematics, blueprints, and other applicable technical data to repair, fabricate and modify composite structures in accordance with quality management system (QMS) procedures.

  • Performing composite repair, fabrication, and composite layup (with or without core) using hand tools to produce products.

  • Working with resins, fiberglass, and foam materials.

  • Sanding and grinding composite materials while wearing protective gear.

  • Mixing resins and hardeners to manufacturers specifications.

  • Using hand tools in a safe and efficient manner in order to shape and form simple components.

You’re enthusiastic and motivated in a fast-paced environment. You have experience with resin spray and hand layup, chopper gun, gel coating, building tooling, and composite manufacturing. You have the ability to work with production drawings and written requests. You enjoy seeing a task through to completion and take pride in your work. You don’t take shortcuts. You’re safety conscious not just for yourself, but for your team.
