INVENTORY CONTROL TECHNICIAN I

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. Job Description:

Contributes to the accurate count, stewardship, and transactions of micro-electronics inventory. Requires the ability to cycle count, read and interpret material part numbers, and handle such components in an ESD safe work environment. Acts as a support resource in filling kit shortages and as a control mechanism in limiting access to valued inventory.

Essential Functions:

  • Fill new kits and verify counts in all kits that leave iRF for contract manufacturing.

  • Work with peers and managers to ensure accuracy of counts and bin locations.

  • Perform scheduled and in-process cycle counts on all materials as procedurally directed.

  • Learn the iRF system for receiving inbound raw materials.

  • Notify short-shipped items or any count/damage discrepancies to Inventory Control Technician III, the Materials Manager and Purchasing Agent.

  • Document lot, revision, and serial numbers on incoming material.

  • Follow and improve upon inventory procedures to strengthen process integrity.

  • Communicate inventory discrepancies and execute transactional movements in a timely manner and notify Inventory Control Technician III and Materials Manager when parts fall below minimum quantity.

  • Issue parts to technicians, assemblers, and engineers in a professional manner.

  • Complete stockroom transactions daily and weekly Production Supplies checklist.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and disciplined work environment.

  • Learn and Practice ESD awareness/best practices.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with inventory counting assignments.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (greater than two hours consecutively).

  • Must be able to frequently lift or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds unassisted.

  • Must be able to use and work under a microscope and be able to handle material with small hand tools i.e. tweezers.

  • This individual must be hands-on, decisive, and able to get things done in a small company environment.

  • A two-year college degree in business or electronics is preferred.

  • Previous experience working within the field of electronics is preferred.

  • Experience working in an ISO work environment is a plus.

  • Must be able to pass a preemployment drug screening and background check.

    Salary Range: $18.00 - $22.50 per hour

    Role: Full-time, non-exempt employee

    Location: Onsite in Sparks, MD with a 9/80 schedule. Every other Friday OFF.
