Responsible

for scheduling clinic, radiology and other ancillary appointments for new KCI

patients

Responsibilities:

  • Re

sponsible for scheduling new and return patient appointments

requested either through direct customer calls or via email, utilizing current

scheduling applications to enter complete and accurate demographic and

insurance information in order to ensure that financial viability at KCI is

secured at the most basic level.

  • Responsible for requesting, collecting, documenting, and assessing all

pertinent records, referrals, prescriptions, and orders to ensure that each

patient is scheduled appropriately and that all records necessary for a

complete evaluation have been received, in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Responsible for assisting patients, family members and referring

physicians’ offices to procure a complete set of records, as well educating

them regarding the importance of having those records available for review

prior to the appointment in order that a complete evaluation can be made.

  • Responsible for collecting and entering

accurate and complete insurance information and for discussing insurance issues

with patients, and for explaining the process and communicating to them their

financial responsibilities and referral requirements.

  • Responsible for identifying, assisting and

educating those patients who do not have insurance coverage on the options

available to them, referring them to a KCI Financial Counselor when

appropriate.

  • Bachelor's degree

and three years of related experience in healthcare; or equivalent combination

of education/ experience required.

A

Registered Nurse, licensed in the State of Michigan, is preferred.

  • Two years of

experience as a Patient Coordinator I preferred.

  • Two years of

experience with the Cerner Scheduling application.

  • Requires high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential

situations with demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Detail oriented.

  • Analytical ability.
