Description

We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our team in SOUTHFIELD, Michigan. As a Legal Assistant/ Debt Collector you will be responsible for managing incoming and outgoing court documents, communicating effectively with clients, and ensuring accurate data entry. This role involves scanning documents, preparing documents for court, and liaising with Process Servers and Courts. This opportunity offers a contract with potential for permanent employment.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process court documents, both incoming and outgoing

• Communicate effectively with clients and maintain a strong working relationship

• Ensure accurate data entry and maintain client documents

• Scan documents as required and keep them well-organized

• Prepare necessary documents for court proceedings

• Process checks in a timely and accurate manner

• Liaise with Process Servers, Courts, and Clients to ensure smooth operations

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for creating and maintaining spreadsheets

• Manage process mail effectively and efficiently

• Stay updated with the Collection Processes and Bankruptcy laws and regulations

• Exhibit strong computer skills and communication skills over the phone.

Requirements • Proven experience as a Legal Assistant

• Proficiency in Collection Processes and Bankruptcy

• Strong data entry skills, with attention to detail and accuracy

• Experience in scanning and organizing documents

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting

• Demonstrated ability to process mail, including sorting and distributing incoming correspondence
