Eaton’s Mobility Group is hiring a Global Category Manager - Indirect Materials in Southfield, MI or any of our Mobility sites in Mexico. Relocation is not offered for this position . This position requires 25% travel.

What you’ll do:

Eaton’s Mobility Group (MG) is currently seeking a Global Category Manager, Indirect Materials to join our team. The position will be eligible for a hybrid work setup. Our supply chain management team creates bottom-line impact by driving cost management and operational benefits.

Within our supply chain, the Global Category Manager for indirect materials leads the development and deployment of the global strategies and synergies. In this role, you will drive the regional indirect managers towards optimal conditions (best practice sharing, internal and external relationships, cost, commercial, quality, delivery, innovation, VAVE, resiliency, localization) for indirect materials by leveraging synergies across regions and corporate to drive the “One Supply Chain” philosophy. You will focus on purchasing initiatives for all regions and interaction with major suppliers, regional indirect managers, corporate SCM, plant managers, engineering, plant financing, and MG Leadership.

You will be responsible for building synergies across regions in processes and management, and driving cost out opportunities with for Mobility group with $335M of spend.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders (businesses, engineering, operations, quality, corporate) to ensure alignment with and to drive indirect strategies.

• Coach and mentor SCM regional indirect teams.

• Drive global supplier relationship development including strategy collaboration, recognition, and MG executive engagement.

• Represent MG in all global supplier business reviews.

• Review to approve all supplier contracts that will affect MG business.

• Review and monitor compliance to category agreements and strategies based upon Eaton SCM strategic directions and policies.

• Review and monitor MG indirect performance in Cost Out, Cost In, DPO, and Contracted Spend.

• Identify and lead global cost out initiatives with SCM, engineering, and operations.

• Benchmark procurement processes to develop and implement best practices throughout Eaton and Supply Chain Management.

• Monitor and drive compliance of suppliers with Eaton SCM Sustainability Programs, and SCM policies.

• Drive globally the plan, preparation, executing and reporting of the annual profit planning in cost performance and risk mitigation.

• Support with global supplier negotiations.

• Coordinate, develop and lead global reporting meetings.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business Administration from an accredited institution.

• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Category Management or Procurement.

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Supply Chain or Operations.

• Minimum 5 years of professional negotiating experience in a global business environment.

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience with accountability across multiple manufacturing facilities.

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience at a management level position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Supply Chain related certification (e.g. CPM, CPIM).

• MBA or Master’s degree in Supply Chain from an accredited institution.

• Minimum 2 years leading a team.

Skills:

• Knowledge of Automotive industry.

• Demonstrates knowledge and experience in successfully developing and deploying category strategies and driving cost-out.

• Creative thinking skills to produce new approaches in category management and implement emerging tools.

Position Criteria

• Communication, customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with senior management, suppliers, operations and SCM personnel.

• Ability to lead a global team in the development and implementation of initiatives in a highly matrixed environment.

• Ability to influence and drive effective organizational change across impacted regions/businesses.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $153749.97 - $225499.96 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
