ASSISTANT QUALITY MANAGER DETROIT, MICHIGAN - DETROIT CONNER STREET PLANT

As a member of the Quality team, the Assistant Quality Manager will assist plan, coordinate, and direct quality programs designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the duties either personally or through subordinate staff members and monitors and maintains IATF 16949 systems in compliance to the latest standards.

The Role: Your work will include, but not be limited to: Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product. Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products. Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability. Investigate customer complaints regarding quality and implement corrective action and containment as required. Act as IATF16949 management representative. Relay customer requirements to personnel at the facility. Prepare monthly reports on Key Quality Measurables. Prepare budget of quality operations. Assure adherence to the collective bargaining agreement. Follow ISO14001 and IATF16949 procedures/processes. Participate in plant recycling programs. Actively participate in self-directed work team model. Perform other duties as assigned. Contribute to the achievement of quality/management objectives by ensuring that quality policies, procedures, and processes are followed. Strong problem-solving- skills. HERCA, 8D, 5 WHY, PDCA Ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner. Prepare and support customer meetings when required Knowledge of lab testing and procedures.

Your Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (B.S. /B.A.); five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor anal
