Vibe Credit Union Assistant Branch Manager in Southfield, Michigan

26-29 per hour | Southfield, MI, USA | Hourly | Full Time

Position Purpose

Assistant Branch Managers are responsible for ensuring outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members. Assistant Branch Managers will assist in developing a highly effective team of employees to reach their highest potential through coaching and leadership. A key component of this service is to identify the financial needs of the member and recommend an appropriate credit union solution, all while providing quality service to members.

Essential Duties

  • Assists the Branch Manager in daily responsibilities needed to effectively manage branch operations, including working at and supporting other branch locations. Serves as the acting Branch Manager in the manager's absence.

  • Promotes the Credit Union's culture, philosophy and values by developing each employee through coaching and training.

  • Monitors employees' performance; assists with performance reviews; provides continuous coaching and feedback.

  • Meets with employees regularly to review performance, set goals and develop action plans to improve upon employees' performance/success.

  • Responsible for exceptional member service to every member, every time by ensuring employees fulfill our Service Promises.

  • Ensures that the branch meets sales and service goals as established by the Credit Union.

  • Demonstrates enthusiastic support of our corporate mission, core values and long-term objectives. Performs job duties within our bylaws, regulations, policies, established internal and external service standards and our work procedures.

  • Train and supervise branch staff. Assign, direct, coordinate and review work performed by staff.

  • Must possess effective knowledge of the Credit Union's products and services and ensure employees possess the same. Promotes products and services by explaining features and benefits and determining members' needs.

  • Monitors branch staff and office activity, assisting as needed. Performs all duties related to member services, cash operations, lending and provides support to members and employees.

  • Ensures branch is compliant with the Branch Internal Control Plan (which includes conducting surprise audits on the vault, cash dispensers, and teller drawers on a monthly basis and/or quarterly basis).

  • Ensures that the branch complies with local, state and federal regulations set forth by the NCUA and other regulatory agencies.

  • Responsible for ensuring entire branch team are trained and compliant with policy, procedures and regulations as related to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (SAFE) daily to ensure compliance with current regulations.

  • Serves as a Loan Officer, understanding the policies and procedures of lending.

  • Performs special assignments as needed.

    Education/Experience

  • Minimal 5 years' experience working as a Member Service Specialist, Loan Officer, or similar role

  • Teller experience helpful

  • Lending experience strongly preferred

  • Proven sales performance within a branch environment

    Skills/Abilities

  • Highly organized and the ability to work in a high-volume environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication to internal and external members

  • Ability to create and analyze reports

  • Flexible with work schedule and work location(s) to meet the needs of members.
