Days D Team- Wednesday 12pm-6pm and Thursday-Saturday 6am-6pm

To operate the production machines and storage systems to raw materials into quality finished products.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate all equipment and maintain production speeds and quality of the finished product

Will sanitize area using high pressure washer and chemical foam cleaners

Complete all forms in department on machine operating data

Participates as a member of the Team . Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T. practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives : Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives: This position description is intended to guide the activities of the Feed Ingredient Operator and is not intended to limit the thinking and creativity of the person to the work of this function nor is it intended that this describe all the work that may be required of the person in this position.

Physical Activities: Ability to work in a wet, noisy, dusty, humid, hot or cold environment that has an unpleasant odor. Ability to sit for long periods of time monitoring equipment more than 8 hours per shift. Ability to walk and stand on feet for more than 8 hours per shift. Ability to climb 50 feet of stairs / fixed ladders once an hour. Ability to climb stairs / fixed ladders to height of 100 feet once per shift. Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling. Requires assisting another employee to push or pull 2000 pound totes with a manual floor jack 10 to 20 times per shift. Ability to enter confined spaces once per shift. Ability to lift and carry 10-50 lbs. Ability to shovel product from floor level to shoulder level through-out the shift. Ability to pull, position, and use high pressure wash down hoses more than 8 hours per shift. Ability to work with various chemicals and identify and use PPE in accordance with MSDS/SDS sheets.

Equipment: Forklift, man lift, scissor lift, front end loader, fall arrest harness, hard hat, eye protection, hearing protection, safety footwear, poly coat coveralls, gas meters, hand tools, pitch fork, shovel, computer.

Minimum Education : Ability to Read, Write and do basic Math

Preferred Education : High School Diploma or G.E.D.
