Job Description

DUTIES:

• Conduct qPCR/dPCR assay development and instrumentation projects.

• Maintain a detailed and organized lab notebook.

• Independently design and perform qPCR experiments to screen variables and optimize workflows.

• Write detailed SOPs, analyze data, and generate reports.

• Lead projects related to genetic analysis platforms that result in new applications and performance improvements.

• Execute studies on various qPCR/dPCR and sample preparation platforms, design assays, analyze, and present results.

• Work closely with molecular biologists and system engineers.

• Help develop and optimize genetic analysis workflows.

• Troubleshoot instrument and workflow failures.

Travel: Up to 5% travel required (domestic only).

REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM Education Requirement: Doctorate degree in Medical Science, or related field of study.

MINIMUM Experience Requirement: No experience.

Alternative Education and Experience Requirement: Master’s degree in Medical Science, or related field of study plus 2 years of experience as a Bioinformatics Researcher, Scientist, or related experience. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, experience or training. Required knowledge or experience with:

• Experience with qPCR/dPCR assay development for genetic analysis;

• JMP, R, Python or similar tools for statistical analysis and visualization;

• Experience with a variety of laboratory instrumentation for qPCR, sample preparation, and automation;

• Good laboratory practices and accurate/precise pipetting techniques;

• Systems engineering and molecular biology;

• Experienced in leading qPCR/dPCR assay development and instrumentation projects;

• Current molecular biology techniques for qPCR/dPCR and nucleic acid purification/ preparation; and

• Experience in leading groups across functions, such as business and operations.

Knowledge, skills, or experience may be gained concurrently through graduate or doctorate level course work and/or internships.

Salary: $124020.60 to $158500.00 per year

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $124,020.60–$158,500.00.
